Ms. Faris is currently lead counsel in a class action lawsuit representing so-called "independent contractor" drivers for FedEx Ground. After a 9 week trial, Ms. Faris, assisted by attorneys from the Leonard Carder firm, secured a verdict declaring that these drivers were treated by FedEx as "employees" and are thus entitled to reimbursement of business expenses under the California Labor Code. FedEx appealed this verdict and the Court of Appeal affirmed the Plaintiffs' victory, and remanded the case back to the trial court, to award the drivers additional damages. Estrada v. FedEx Ground Package System, Inc., 54 Cal.App.4 th 1 (2007).
Ms. Faris is co-lead counsel in a follow-up series of class action cases against FedEx seeking similar remedies for FedEx Ground drivers in more than 30 states. The cases have been consolidated as a multi-district litigation case in federal District Court for the Northern District of Indiana.

Eleanor Morton. Ms. Morton has successfully represented working people in litigation in federal and state courts, before federal and state administrative agencies and in mediation and arbitration. Ms. Morton (with Ms. Faris) is currently representing FedEx Ground drivers in more than 30 states in a federal multi-district action challenging the company's misclassification of its drivers as "independent contractors."See In re FedEx Ground Employment Practices Litigation, N.D. Rea, Alameda Co. No. RG0625337(obtaining a ruling expanding workers' rights under state prevailing wage laws and resulting in a $5.2 million settlement for unpaid wages).
